The Poke Lounge is created by Kumu Hula, Blaine Kamalani Kia who is also a professional musical artist and veteran entertainer. Kumu Blaine wanted to create A virtual “lounge atmosphere” where Hawaiian music can be played live and shared live throughout the country of Japan from a variety of social media platforms.

POKE: is a traditional Hawaiian fish salad cuisine. It means to slice or cut into pieces. Poke began with fishermen of old Hawaiʻi using their catch of yellow-fin tuna remains and season them into a snack. This snack popularized over time and is now considered a main course in our local diet. It is simply a mix of diced or sliced raw fish with a variety of recipes and condiments. And so, like our friends in Japan, both people of Hawaiʻi and Japan enjoy fish, as we do in our MUSIC! Mele (music) & Poke go hand-in-hand at a typical local party!
